Building Better Opportunities

WHAT WE OFFER: Work Experience Opportunities at REPC

REPC is currently one of the partners in the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) Bridges Black Country programme – a 3-year project funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund. The aim of the project is to provide employment support for people 25 years old and above to help them address any barriers preventing them from finding work, so that they can move closer to and into the labour market.

REPC’s role in the project is to provide work experience for the project participants. We offer up to 10 days work experience, enabling participants to get a feel for working in an IT environment and start developing some of the skills required to become an IT technician. The programme is flexible – depending on our current capacity, individuals can attend one day per week for up to 10 weeks, or anything up to 5 days per week for 2 weeks. At the end of the programme, we can assist individuals to move on to other supported programmes, move into job search, apply to IT study programmes, or we may even be able to offer them a position at REPC.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

To access the BBO Bridges project, individuals must be:

1. 25 years-old and over

2. Unemployed

3. In addition, our target client group for the programme is individuals with (mild) learning disabilities/difficulties. We can offer a place to anyone suffering from problems such as autism, Aspergers, dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc, as well as mentally debilitating problems such as bipolar disorder, depression, etc. It is quite a wide brief (we are interested in anyone who has a learning or mental issue that provides and barrier to them settling into a working environment) – feel free to contact us if you are not sure if the person would qualify.
