Supporting Birmingham’s Youth with Refurbished Laptops

At RePC Ltd, we dedicate ourselves to making a difference in the communities we serve. As a leading social enterprise specializing in re-purposing IT equipment for use across the UK, we are proud to announce our recent collaboration with fellow Chamber members, 5UP and Evolve Apprentices. This partnership aims to support Birmingham’s youth in their pursuit of apprenticeships and college placements. Furthermore, this partnership shows the benefits of utilising refurbished equipment for both the environment and their direct beneficiaries.

Through the Chamber of Commerce, 5UP, a community interest company, connected with Radhiya Lovatt from Evolve Apprentices, a social value enterprise offering a flexi-shared apprenticeships scheme in the construction sector. This collaboration enabled young people from the 5UP ‘Bring it on Brum’ programme to attend a job fair organized by Bharat Chauhan, the employer advisor from Handsworth Jobcentre. At the event, they received help and advice from Radhiya, who is now working to secure them apprenticeship roles in the building sector, particularly as electricians and plumbers.

Providing Refurbished Laptops for Coursework and Apprenticeship Applications

Recognizing the importance of technology in today’s education and job-seeking landscape, we joined forces with 5UP to equip these young people with refurbished laptops for their coursework and apprenticeship applications. Our managing director, Bevil Williams, personally presented the laptops at 5UP’s Muay Thai venue.

At RePC Ltd, we believe in the power of refurbished equipment to bridge the digital divide and reduce e-waste. By providing these laptops, we not only support the environment but also ensure that the young people in the 5UP programme have equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of their economic background.

“The services that 5UP are delivering to the youth of the communities in which they operate are invaluable. The young people clearly value and enjoy the high standards of training delivered by the dedicated, professional, and caring staff. The mission of 5UP aligns with the values and services of RePC Ltd, and we are absolutely delighted to be able to provide much-needed IT equipment to their trainees.”
