West Brom IT Recyclers Recognised For Community Work

We were delighted to win the Contribution toward community service award at the Bi Annual Sandwell Volunteer Awards held at the Town Hall in West Bromwich on Friday 5th June.

The event was organised to highlight the voluntary work being done across the borough, and to thank the people helping make such positive changes.

Sandwell mayor, Councillor Barbara Price presented the award to Bevil Williams, our Managing Director, who said he was thrilled to have been honoured for his firm’s corporate social responsibility.

“We’ve helped many local groups and associations, recently working with Walsall Housing Group to create a digital hub, as part of its continued commitment to bridging the ‘digital divide’”.

“This refers to the gap between those who have access to IT and internet and those who don’t.”

“It’s vital these days to have access to the internet, and the range of services and information this brings. Being online can actively help save you money, and yet studies show that a large proportion of people with no internet access come from the most socially and economically disadvantaged people in our society.

“Our company believes everyone has the right to access the internet, which is underlined by our work – and to be recognised for this is fantastic.

“We’re delighted to receive this award, especially as we were honoured alongside the many wonderful volunteers who are actively helping to make Sandwell a better place to live.”
